Christopher Columbus Clark (C. C. Clark) served with Company C, 29th Texas Cavalry (DeMorse's Regiment). He joined 20 Jul 1862 at Pattonville, Lamar Co., TX. His rank was Private. He also served at Clarksville, Red River Co., TX.

Christopher Columbus Clark was born in Wythe Co., Va. on 27 Dec 1833 he died 21 May 1877. At this time no one in the family knows where Christopher is buried. I talked with Mr. J. L. Hestande of Decatur, TX, who believes that Christopher is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Wise Co., TX, however there is no headstone to mark his grave. His parents were John Clark and Mary (Polly) Crawford. He was on of seven children of that union. I have not been able to find out when he went to Texas. He married 1 Apr 1861, Susanna Hathaway born 25 Nov 1833, daughter of William M. G. Hathaway and Percilla G. Hathaway, Susanna is buried in Henson Cemetery, Red Springs, TX. Of this union five children were born:

(1) Mary Percilla Clark (born 7 Jan 1862, died 2 Sep 1931, of Tuberculosis, buried in Henson Cemetery, Red Springs, TX) married William (Buck) Holt Nichols (born 22 Jul 1859, died 19 Apr 1937, buried in Henson Cemetery, Red Springs, TX.)

(2) Dora Etter Clark (born 15 Jun 1866, died 16 Aug 1908 of Breast Cancer, buried in Prairie Bell Cemetery, Dewey Co., OK). She married first to James Elbert Cook, 2 Dec 1884, Wise Co. TX (Born 1857, TN.) She married second to Jack Scott, ca. 1900, OK.

(3) Charley Lee Clark (born 26 Oct 1868, died 24 Dec 1932, buried in Altus City Cemetery, Altus, OK.) He married Donita (Donie) Hestande (born 1883, TN, died Jul 1940, buried in Altus City Cemetery, Altus, OK.) Donie's parents were John Harvey Hestande and Virginia Lee Carter. They were living in Decauter, TX in the 1910 Census for Wise Co. TX.

(4) Hale Columbus Clark (born 28 Jun 1871, Wise Co., TX, died 9 Jan 1946, Dewey Co., OK, buried in Prairie Bell Cemetery, Dewey Co., OK, Cause of Death was a heart attack.) He married 24 Jan 1895 to Mary (Mollie) E. Downs (born 1 Aug 1877, died 8 Jan 1916 at Terrell State Hospital, Kaufman Co. TX, buried at Terrell State Hospital). She was the daughter of James Sanford Downs and Apaline Cowen.

(5) John Henry Clark (born 12 Sep 1875, Rockwall Co., TX, died 26 Nov 1930, buried in Elm Cemetery, Custer Co., OK, Cause of death: Heart Attack. He married 10 Nov 1901, Dewey Co. OK., to Effie Luiza Clark (born 4 Jul 1882, Commache Co. TX, died 29 Apr 1963, buried Elm Cemetery, Custer Co., OK.) Effie was the daughter of Richard Artmus Clark and Barbara Debitha Howlett.
