Prairie Ridge Cemetery, Lamar County, Texas

LOCATION:	Prairie Ridge Cemetery is also called Sumner Academy Cemetery. It is located in the northwest quadrant of the county. It is in Block 23 of the Lamar County Road Map produced by American Drafting and Services revised December 1993. This cemetery is sometimes referred to as Sumner Academy.
DIRECTIONS:	The cemetery is about 7 miles northwest of the intersection of Loop 286 and Highway 79, about one mile east of the Sumner community. It is on County Road 33250 one mile north of Highway 79 and about one mile south of the Emberson community.
GPS COORDINATES:	33° 44' 58.34 N, 95° 39' 07.26 W (33.7495389 Latitude and -95.6520167 Longitude)
OLDEST KNOWN BURIAL:	The oldest inscribed grave is that of Lucinda F. Sumner who died 15 Mar 1885.
NUMBER OF GRAVES:	There are 413 known graves in the cemetery. (July 2017)
