Griffin Cemetery, Lamar County, Texas
LOCATION: Griffin Cemetery is located in the southwest quadrant of the county near Roxton in Block 53 of the Lamar County Road Map produced by American Drafting and Services revised December 1993. It was believed that Baughman Cemetery and Griffin Cemetery were the same, but they are about a mile apart.
DIRECTIONS: Griffin Cemetery is located about one mile from the Doyle Childers' farm southwest of Roxton, according to Elizabeth Booth who recorded the cemetery on 2 Feb 1975; however, no specific road directions are in the Booth records. Jeannie Griffin provided the following directions: From Roxton, south on Highway 137, around curve to west, over the bridge outside (south) of Roxton. Turn to left (south) on Hackleman Road, over another bridge, curve to right, then left on Lamar County Road #25200. Go past LC #25150 and LC #25220. At intersection of LC #25220 and #25200 there is a house that sits on the southwest corner. In 1994 that was Jerry Home's house, who owns the land. From the intersection to a gate on the right is .6 of a mile. Standing at the gate facing into the pasture (west) the cemetery is in the stand of trees viewed from the gate. From the turn onto Hackleman Road to the gate is 2.6 miles.
