Gordon Cemetery, Lamar County, Texas
LOCATION: Gordon Cemetery would be in the northeast quadrant of the county in Block 27 of the Lamar County Road Map produced by American Drafting and Services revised December 1993.
DIRECTIONS: The 1989 General Highway Map of Lamar County, revised to May 1, 1992 refers to this cemetery as being about 5 miles north of the intersection of Loop 286 and Highway 271. It is supposed to be on the east side of the railroad tracks that parallel Highway 271. It would be in Block 24 of the Lamar County Road Map produced by American Drafting and Services revised December 1993. The location was walked by Butch and Betsy Mills and by Ron Brothers. Being a part of old Camp Maxey and because of housing development there, no evidence of a cemetery was found in December of 1993. An earlier map seen by Ron Brothers in the County Clerk's Office referred to this as Frisco Cemetery.
