LOCATION: Egypt Cemetery is a Black cemetery located in the northeast quadrant of the county. It is in Block 35 of the Lamar County Road Map produced by American Drafting and Services revised December 1993. DIRECTIONS: From the traffic signal on Hwy 82 in Blossom, proceed easterly for 1.3 miles to the intersection with FM 1502. Take FM 1502 north for 2/10 mile to the intersection with CR 44900 (Bois d'Arc Street). Take CR 44900 west for 2/10 miles and it will turn right or north for 5/10 mile to the intersection with CR 44900 and a country lane to the right. This lane is blocked by a pipe gate so it is necessary to proceed east on foot for the next 442 yards (1/4 mile). Egypt Black Cemetery is at the end of this lane. OLDEST KNOWN BURIAL: The oldest inscribed grave is that of Eso Reynolds who died 26 Aug 1887. NUMBER OF GRAVES: There are 220 known graves in the cemetery. (July 2017) SIGNS/MARKERS: There is a state highway marker for the cemetery. LAST ENUMERATION: This cemetery was recorded on 16 May 1992, by Betsy and Butch Mills.
