Dozier Cemetery, Lamar County, Texas
LOCATION: Dozier Cemetery is located about 2 miles northwest of Chicota in the northwest quadrant in Block 7 of the Lamar County Road Map produced by American Drafting and Services revised December 1993.
DIRECTIONS: The cemetery is about 2 miles northwest of Chicota on County Road 35780. It is also about a mile from the Forest Chapel Cemetery.
GPS COORDINATES: Not available.
OLDEST KNOWN BURIAL: The oldest inscribed grave is that of Rebecca Susanna Dozier who died 10 May 1894.
NUMBER OF GRAVES: There are only 2 known graves in the cemetery. (July 2017)
SIGNS/MARKERS: There is not a state highway marker for the cemetery.
LAST ENUMERATION: Unknown.
ADD'L INFORMATION: Dozier Cemetery is a small family burial plot containing only 2 graves, Rebecca Susanna Dozier who died 10 May 1894 and David Tatum Dozier. It is discussed in the book by Roberta Woods and Ruth Renfro titled CHICOTA, TEXAS, 1835-1985, Henry Publishing, Paris, 1986.
