Notes

Funeral Home Record; Aug 12, 2025; A woman who loved deeply and was deeply loved, Brinda W. Compton Brumley entered the gates of Heaven on August 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family and the grace of her Lord and Savior. Brinda was born on August 15, 1949, in Lubbock, Texas, to her beloved parents, J.T. Compton and Dorothy (Graves) Compton. She was a proud graduate of Lubbock High School’s Class of 1969. After graduation, she began working at Pinkie’s Diner in Lubbock, a place that held a special place in her heart and created treasured memories that stayed with her throughout her life. In 1980, Brinda moved to Paris, Texas, where she devoted herself to raising her three sons — David, Shannon, and Timothy. Always striving to better herself and serve others, she returned to school in 1988 to attend Paris Junior College’s Nursing Program, where she earned her LVN degree. Brinda was a proud and dedicated nurse who served with integrity, compassion, and grace. She spent her nursing career at St. Joseph Hospital until her retirement in 2004, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and advocacy for her patients. She was deeply respected and loved by all who knew her. Brinda was preceded in death by her parents; her son, David Compton; brothers, Gary Compton and wife Janet, and Donald Compton. She is survived by her sons, Shannon and wife Mandy Werline of Blossom, Texas, and Timothy Brumley of Clarksville, Texas; sister, Sharon Compton of Midland, Texas; grandchildren, Tiffany Fuentes and husband Daniel, Josh Werline and Miranda Smith, Bailey Northcutt, Joey Werline and Hattie Powell, Lauren Allison and husband Morgan, and Koda Brumley; great-grandchildren, Cooper and Adalyn Fuentes, Carol and Gatlin Holder, July and Beau Werline, Henley Sutfin, and Rhyland Allison. To her family, Brinda was more than her many titles — mother, sister, aunt — she was Nanny, the heart of her family and the keeper of its traditions. She found joy in crocheting, sewing, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. Above all, she found her greatest fulfillment in serving the Lord. Brinda’s memory will be cherished by her dear friends Irma Lewis, Willie Jackson, Brenda Gaddis, and Marilyn Dorsett Hampton, her best friend since high school. A funeral service honoring Brinda’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Ritchey officiating. Special tribute will be presented by the Texoma Nurse Honor Guard. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 – 7 p.m. Pallbearers will be Josh Werline, Joey Werline, Garon Shirley, Patton Shirley, Cody Compton, Rusty Lawings, Sammy Brumley, Kris Brumley, and Jonathan Fitzgerald. Brinda’s many hats in life — mother, nurse, friend, and Nanny — have now become a crown of strength and grace. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and resilience that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
