Notes

The Paris News, May 17, 2025; With love and fond memories, we celebrate the life of Charlie Margaret Biard, who passed away on Apr. 27, 2025, at the age of 83 in Las Vegas, NV, where she had lived for over 30 years. Born Nov. 10, 1941, in Paris, Texas, to Charlie Henry and Gladys Rodgers Biard, she spent her early years in Biardstown before beginning a lifelong journey in education. Charlie’s passion for teaching began early, inspired by her mother. She earned degrees from Paris Junior College, North Texas State University, and the University of New Mexico. Her teaching career spanned nearly five decades and several continents—starting in Colorado, then Newfoundland and Japan with the Dept. of Defense, followed by positions in New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., and finally Nevada. Her 25 years at Girard College in Philadelphia were especially impactful, where she rose from teacher to Director of Education. Charlie also loved travel, show business, and cherished friendships. Her 52-year relationship with her beloved Jack and her deep bonds with friends and chosen family brought her great joy. Charlie’s guiding philosophy was: “I shall pass this way but once… let me do it now, for I shall not pass this way again.” She leaves behind numerous cousins, friends, and former students whose lives she touched deeply. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2025, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with burial following in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. To leave a message or tribute for the family please visit www.brighthollandfuneralhome.com
