THE PARIS NEWS, Aug. 26, 1986: William Vern Bartlett, 4115 Eastridge, died at his home Monday, Aug. 25, at 10 a.m. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. C.G. Renfro officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery at Fulbright. Mr. Bartlett was born Nov. 27, 1922, in Sebastian County, Ark., a son of James F. Bartlett and Clara Boswell Bartlett. He attended schools at Glendale, Texas. On March 21, 1959, he married Edith Joyce Stevens Bridges. He was a veteran of World War II. They moved to Paris from Fulbright in 1984. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. James (Sharon) Dunagan of Blossom and Mrs. Norman (Judy) Farmer of McAlester, Okla.; two grandchildren, Mark Dunagan of Blossom and Lorie Farmer of McAlester; six sisters, Mrs. Auddie Daniels of Paris, Ellen Driggers of Paris, Goldie Hoover of Pattonville, Lessie Nelson of Talco, Omega Smith of Sunray and Jewel Freeze of Crockett; one brother, Lester Bartlett of Denton; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Fredrick Bartlett, in 1965. The family will be at the residence.
