THE PARIS NEWS, Nov. 9, 2012: Vicki Dixon-Binns, 57, of Decatur, Ga., passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, in Grady Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, at Mounty Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. S. F. Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Restlawn Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Maxey Funeral Home. Vicki Dixon-Binns, affectionally known as "Peaches," was born in Paris on Oct. 12, 1955, to Ralph Buckner and Barbara Dixon. Vicki graduated from Paris Hight School in 1974 and furthered her education at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., in 1979. While attending IU, Peaches pledged to be a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., in 1977. Vicki graduated with a bachelor's degree in education. She went on to work in many administrative roles throughout her career as well as always continuing her love of socialization by working part-time jobs in retail. Shortly after graduation from IU, Vicki married Ellery Binns on March 13, 1980, in Gary Ind. After their first year of marriage, Vicki and Ellery were blessed with their first baby girl, Erikka Binns, in 1981. Seven years later they were blessed with their second baby girl, Eliyse Binns, in 1988. Vicki leaves behind her mother, Barbara Looney; former husband and best friend Ellery Binns; two daughters, Erikka and Eliyse Binns; a beautiful granddaughter, Alerie Tegan Davis; two brothers, Marcus Dixon and Gerald Looney; and the family's cherished canine companion, Shih Tzu, Gizmo Rock Binns.
