THE PARIS NEWS, May 27, 2016: Jean Young Bible, 63, of Sumner passed from this life on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at her residence. Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home with Paul Garrett officiating. Burial rites will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Starrett Funeral Home, 425 S. Church St., Paris, Texas, 75460. Honorary pallbearers: Dustin Van Orne, John Morris and John Gutierrez. Memorials: If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Red River Valley Veterans Memorial, 1025 S. Collegiate Drive, Paris, Texas, 75460, www.rrvvm.com. Jean was born Aug. 31, 1952, in Wills Point, a daughter of George D. and Carrie Mae Hendrickson Young. She was a graduate of Arlington schools, then attended the University of Texas at Arlington. She worked as a human resources specialist for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Bonham. She had formerly served in the offices of the Texas Attorney General, the Social Security Administration and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Jean had served as a Girl Scout leader and was a former member of the Paris Altrusa Club. She was a member of the Dallas Trekkers walking club, and enjoyed participation in volksmarches. She was a member of the International Twins Association. Jean was a member of Scarlett Ohara's Red Hat Club in Arlington. She lived the love of her Lord through her membership in the Church of Christ, and taking care of others was the first priority of her life. She loved animals, and they loved her. She enjoyed travel, and especially loved to travel to England to visit her longtime pen pal Linda Mailey. Jean had a keen interest in family history and genealogy, and enjoyed connecting with cousins and other relatives on Facebook. She loved the color blue, and the music of Neil Diamond. Her compassion and selfless nature was recognized by all who knew her, and anyone who was in her presence sensed her loving spirit. She married Larry Bible on May 10, 1974, in Grand Prairie. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kenneth Young; and her father-in-law, E.W. Bible. Survivors: Her husband, Larry of Sumner; son, John Kenneth "Jake" Bible of Stephenville; daughter, Carrie Anne Bible of Fort Worth; her identical twin, June Young Morris of Fort Worth; nieces, Sarah Jill Morris of Euless and Julie Ann Van Orne of Fort Worth; her mother-in-law, Joyce Lorene Bible of Grand Prairie; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
