Jeannie attended North Lamar Schools where she graduated in 1977. She married Phil Thompson on December 10, 1976. Jeannie was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom for many years before working outside the home. She worked for a short time at The Texas Belle in Paris and then began working at McCuistion Regional Medical Center in the cardiopulmonary department where she worked for 23 years before she got sick suddenly in 2018. She loved her job there and loved the friendships she made there even more. Jeannie attended Direct Baptist Church most of her life. Jeannie was devoted to her family. She spent any spare time she had caring for them and supporting them in whatever they were doing. She was an excellent baker and cook and if you got any of her homemade rolls and cinnamon rolls, you would not forget. Many will remember her love for running and she encouraged others to do the same. She was sure it was a cure all for a lot of ailments. Most will remember her for the compassionate and loving spirit she shared everywhere she went. She truly cared for others above anything else. Surviving include her husband of 48 years, Phil Thompson of Direct, daughter and son in law, Ami and Ben Hurst of Sulphur Springs, son and daughter in law, Ryan and Molly Thompson of Sugar Land, and daughter and son in law, Lindsay and Will Fisher of Direct, 8 grandchildren, Hayden, Laney, Maggie and Ian Hurst, Anna Kate and Harper Thompson and Rylie and Sloan Fisher.
