| Notes LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, July 19, 1979: "Mrs. Mary Jane Burkett, 87 of Leisure Lodge Nursing Home died Monday, July 16, 1979, in a local hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 18, in the chapel of Gene Roden’s Sons, Directors of Funerals, conducted by Sister Virgie Temple. Burial was in Rockford Cemetery. Mary Jane Flemings Burkett was born Jan. 20, 1892, daughter of John and Etter McDaniel Flemings. She married W.H. Burkett and he died in 1966. Survivors include one daughter, Eula Lamb Gibson of Grand Prairie; one sons, Walter Burkett of Paris; two sisters, Ida Jones and Renie Weaver, bot of Paris; one brother, Walter Flemings of Paris; 12 grandchildren; and several great and great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons." |
