| Notes LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, Dec. 17, 1987: "Maude Brock of Kanawha died Thursday, Dec. 10 at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Services were held Saturday, Dec. 12, in Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Ref. Jeff Davis of First United Methodist Church of Avery officiating. Burial was in the Kanawha Cemetery. Mrs. Brock was born Nov. 22, 1888 at Kanawha, the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Gus Walker. She attended public schools at Kanawha. She married William Brock, who died in 1942. She is survived by one son, Van Brock of Kanawha and Paris; one granddaughter, Mrs. Gary (Becky) Huggins of Paris; two great-grandchildren, Brock Huggins and Heather Huggins; and two sisters, Mrs. Ed Garrison and Winnie Peacock, both of Paris. She was preceded in death by two sons, Ervin Brock and Elmer Brock." |
