THE PARIS NEWS, Aug. 26, 2023: “Patsy Ann Farris-Bestul, 78, of Deport, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023, at her home. Memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Blanton officiating. Patsy, the daughter of John and Irene Nichols, was born on Aug. 25, 1944, in Detroit, Texas. She graduated from Detroit High School in 1963. She worked at Westinghouse then later for Prairiland School at the Deport campus as head cook until her retirement in 2015. She married Travis Wallace Farris in 1966, and they had a son, Mark Wallace Farris, and a daughter, Alice LeAnn Farris. They built 39 years of family and memories before his death in 2006. In 2014, she married Bruce Bestul. She loved working in the yard, sewing, cooking, and was an excellent housekeeper. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her grandkids. Patsy was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Bruce; a son, Mark Wallace Farris and wife Tiffany of Blossom; and a daughter, LeAnn Farris and companion Amanda Ward of Paris; two grandsons, Ayden Travis Farris of Paris and Kreidyn Leslie Farris of Blossom; a granddaughter, Lakyn Marie Farris of Blossom; a brother, Kenneth Nichols and wife Betty; and a sister, Linda Davidson and husband Charles; along with several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
