THE PARIS NEWS, Dec 30, 1971: "Mrs. Velma Bledsoe, 62 of 740 Pine Bluff St., a retired cafe owner-operator, died of illness Wednesday at 11:15 PM in McCuistion Hospital. Born at Peerless, Hopkins County, Dec 1, 1909, she was a daughter of Linley Lee Creacy and the former Maude Woolsey. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Gene Roden’s Sons Chapel here, interment to be made in the cemetery at Fort Towson, OK. Mrs. Bledsoe’s husband, W.M. (Mose) Bledsoe, died in 1955 and surviving are her mother, two sisters, Mrs. Patsy Harrison and Mrs. Lucille Mitchell, Odessa and a brother, L.L. Creacy, Hugo OK."
