THE PARIS NEWS, Mar. 4, 1976: "Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel. Benny Cogburn will officiate, with burial in Detroit Cemetery. The family will, receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Clarence E. Bentley Jr., Rt. 2, Detroit, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital Wednesday at 10:45 p.m. Funeral services are pending with Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home. Mr. Bentley was born in Cooke County April 16, 1905. He had been ill for the past several years. He attended schools in Cooke County, McAllen and Abilene Christian College. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He married Margaret Kerr in Paris March 2, 1948. He moved to Detroit in 1942 where he was engaged in ranching. He was ateo a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Pete Parham of Paris and Mrs. Jim Shurtleff of Paris; two sons, Randy and Robin Bentley, both of Paris; two grandsons, Jeff Eind Chris Shurtleff, both of Paris; two sisters, Mrs. Les (Lela Mae) Moore of George own and Mrs. Forest (Hattke) Baker of Fort Worth."

THE PARIS NEWS, Mar.7, 1976: "Funeral services for Clarence E. Bentley Jr., Rt. 2, Detroit, were conducted Saturday morning in Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with Benny Cogburn, Church of Christ minister, officiating. Burial was in Detroit Cemetery. Bearers were Boyce Campbell, Dale Miller, John Chumbley, Cecil Latimer, Clay Bailey, Charles Sharpe, and James Greer. Mr. Bentley died Wednesday in St. Joseph’s Hospital."
