THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, January 12, 1938, p. 9: "J. M. L. BELL. Death of J. M. L. Bell occurred Wednesday morning at 7 o'clock at the home of his son, L. B. Bell on South Fifth street where he had lived since coming from Arkansas about two years ago. He was born in Arkansas April 10, 1856. Manton-Fry funeral home will send the body Thursday noon to Talihina, Okla., for burial."
