Notes

THE PARIS NEWS, December 12, 2018: "Sydney Sue 'Cindy' Hite Bebee, 78, passed away at her home in Paris, Texas, surrounded by her family on Dec. 3, 2018. She was born on Sept. 7, 1940, in Texarkana, Texas, and was soon adopted by Sidney Scott and Virginia Sue Hite. Cindy spent her early years between Texarkana and her beloved grandmother, Corrie S. Goad’s, home in Idabel, Oklahoma. Cindy and her mother moved to Dallas, Texas, where she attended Highland Park High School, made many life-long friends, and met the love of her life. On Sept. 28, 1957, she married Doyle Edwin Bebee. Together, they had four children. Cindy and Doyle made their early home in Dallas, and after sadly losing their first-born son, Christopher Edwin, they settled in Garland, Texas, where they raised their three daughters. Cindy and Doyle attended First Presbyterian Church, Garland, where Cindy became active as a Sunday School teacher and trainer, vacation Bible school coordinator, deacon and youth group leader, along with Doyle. She played a very active role in the activities of the church, focused heavily on Christian education and fellowship. Cindy also worked at the Promenade Hallmark Shop in Richardson, Texas, where she developed her love for Hummel figurines, plates and greeting cards. Cindy and Doyle relocated to South Texas in 1983, where Cindy continued her church participation and service at First Presbyterian Church, Seguin, Texas, but they re-settled in North Texas in 2001, ultimately choosing Paris, Texas, as their home. Cindy and Doyle again found their church home and family at Central Presbyterian Church, Paris, Texas, where Cindy was actively involved in the Women’s Circle and the Kitchen Crew. Cindy and Doyle worked many Sunday mornings preparing breakfast for the congregants and also on multiple occasions for special luncheons and potluck dinners. Cindy had a love for cooking and was most comfortable in the kitchen, preparing traditional, Southern style food. She brought much joy and happiness to many people with her lovingly prepared dishes. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Doyle; daughters, Cathy Bebee, Kim Preslar (Randy), Kerry Harrison (Jon); seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Cindy was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Edwin Bebee; and parents, Virginia Sue Hite and Sidney Scott Hite. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Central Presbyterian Church, 309 S. Church St., Paris, TX. Memorial donations in Cindy’s memory may be made to either The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation at cholangiocarcinoma.org or Central Presbyterian Church. Online condolences may be sent to fry-gibbs.com.” Submitted by Linda Broyles.
