THE PARIS NEWS, October 29, 2018: "Roy Dean Beassie, 89, of Powderly, passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, at Legend Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Smith officiating and Micah Allen serving as eulogist. Burial will be made in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Mr. Beassie, the son of Mack Joseph and Viola Sanderson Beassie, was born July 6, 1929, in Louann, Arkansas. His career as an auto mechanic and service manager spanned many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mitchell Joseph Beassie; five sisters, Pauline “Aunt Sister” Henry, Rosie Henry, Aliene Smith, Marvin Dean Beassie, Zackie Ward and Rumse Bounds; and a brother, Marvin Dean Beassie. Survivors include his wife, Lois Marie Beassie; children, Fadelia Perkins and husband, Herman, of Oklahoma, Rocky Dean Beassie and wife, Sharon, of Powderly, Michael Jerome Beassie and wife, Pam, of Mississippi, and Vicki L. Miller, of Lake Charles, Louisiana; a brother, James A. Beassie and wife, Elsie, of Hineston, Louisiana; eleven grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Casket bearers will be Spencer Smith, Ethan Bonsall, Herman Perkins, Zeb Beassie, Dean Beassie and Mitchell Beassie.
