THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, May 23, 1975, p. 8: “Mrs. Tom Beauchamp. Mrs. Tom L. Beauchamp of 821 Clarksville died Friday morning at 1:45 in Cherry Street Manor. Services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Julian T. Hendren officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mrs. Beauchamp was the former Miss Florence Augusta Walker, born Dec. 16, 1883 at Paris. She is a daughter of the late Hardin G. Walker and Mattie Dunagan Walker. She attended public schools in Paris, attended the University of Texas, and taught school several places in Lamar County. She married the late Judge Tom L. Beauchamp on May 7, 1907. After their marriage they lived in Paris until 1933. At that time they moved to Tyler where they stayed until 1939 where he practiced law. In 1939 he moved to Austin as Secretary of State and late in the year of 1939 he became a Judge of State Court of Criminal appeals and remained in that office until 1952 when he retired. At that time they moved back to Paris and have lived here since. Judge Beauchamp preceded her in death on April 26,1964. She was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Mary Baker Sunday School class. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Pugh of Canton, Tex.; one son, Tom L. Beauchamp Jr. of Dallas; and three grandchildren, Mrs. Florence Johnston of Canton, James C. Pugh Jr. of Dallas, and Tom L. Beauchamp III of Washington, D. C., six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and two sisters, Mrs. Georgia Campbell and Mrs. Mayme Holman, both of Amarillo.”
