THE PARIS NEWS, August 16, 2012, p. 1: “Eight-year-old Brandon Thiessen was pronounced dead at the scene of a one-car rollover accident in Southwest Lamar County early Wednesday. Two other children were seriously injured, when their mother, the driver of the vehicle, allegedly lost control and the vehicle rolled several times. Jayna Thiessen, 3, was flown by helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Dallas, and Bryan Thiessen, 16, was flown to Parkland Hospital with undisclosed serious injuries. Texas Department of Safety trooper Jeff Nichols said the accident happened about 7:50 a.m. Justice of the Peace Crystal Duke pronounced the 8-year-old dead at the scene after attempts to revive him failed.” Submitted by Tina Vickery.

Branden Skylar Thiessen (October 15, 2003 - August 15, 2012) A celebration of the young life of Branden Skylar Thiessen will be held at the Mission Lighthouse Church near Tigertown, TX on Tuesday August 21, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. with Bro. Ray Tinsman officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 6-8:00 P.M., Monday August 20, 2012 at the church. Named as Pallbearers are Bro. John Friesen, Bro. Abe Friesen, Bro. Addison Everrett and Bro. Frank Friesen. Branden passed away August 15, 2012. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Branden was born October 15, 2003 to Jacob Hilderbrand Thiessen and Mary Helen (Klasson) Thiessen in Sulphur Springs, TX. Branden is survived by his parents, one brother, Bryan Thiessen, one sister, Jayna Thiessen; paternal grandparents, John and Aganetha of Seminole, TX; maternal grandparents, Abe and Helen Klasson of Seminole, TX; several cousins and a host of saints.
