THE PARIS NEWS, January 9, 2019: “Laura ‘Jane’ Bell, 92, of Paris, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018, at Spring Lake Assisted Living. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, at First Assembly of God, in Hugo, Oklahoma.”

Information from funeral home: Laura Jane Bell, 92, of Live Oak, CA entered fully into the presence of her Lord and Savior Sunday, December 30, 2018, following a battle with kidney cancer. She came to Spring Lake Assisted Living facility in Paris, TX in November of 2018. A celebration of Jane’s life will be held at 3:00 pm. on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at First Assembly of God in Hugo, OK with Bro. Keithen Brown officiating. Roden & Pryor funeral home has assisted the family with the funeral arrangements. Jane was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, John ‘O.J.’ Bell in January 2008. Jane become a Christian in her early twenties. She met her future husband a few years later and they were married within three months. They were very involved in their church (Assembly of God) over the years. Jane was the youth’s CA (Christ Ambassador’s) leader for many years and also became the song leader. Jane was very active most of her life only slowing down a ‘little’ in the last year. She loved being outside and enjoyed working in her yard. She enjoyed her grandkids and great grandkids immensely and loved reminiscing with her nieces and nephews about old times. Jane is survived by her daughter, Jeanette (Leon) Mitchell of Paris, TX,, her grandchildren, Jenny (Joe) Smith of Pocatello, ID and Kimberly (David) Cox of Paris, TX, her great grandchildren, Josiah Smith, Connor Cox, Joshua Smith, Sarah Jayne Cox and Jaslene Smith and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her seven brothers and sisters, Bert Cader of Fort Bragg, CA, Travis Cader of Arcata, CA, Goldie Walston of Sicily Island, LA, Richard Cader of Willits, CA, Herman Cader of Sicily Island, LA, Buddie Cader of Oroville, CA, and Joyce Smith of Live Oak, CA and numerous nieces and nephews. She also outlived all her longtime friends. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Diana from Waterford Hospice and Palliative Care Center for her support in Jane’s final days. Also, the many caregivers from Spring Lake for their dedication and encouragement.
