THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, December 26, 1954, p. 3: “MRS. J. H. THREET. Paris News Service COOPER -- The funeral of Mrs. Birtie Threet, 44, wife of J. M Threet, Rt. 3, Cooper, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church. Burial will be made in Oaklawn Cemetery by Delta Funeral Home. Mrs. Threet died Friday about 11 p.m. in Lamar General Hospital, Paris, having been ill the past five months.”

THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, December 27, 1954, p. 2: “THREET SERVICES. Paris News Service. COOPER -- Mrs. J. M. Threet, 44, of Race Track community, was buried Sunday afternoon in Oaklawn Cemetery by Delta Funeral Home, after services In First Baptist Church. The pastor, the Rev. Glenn Hayden, and Bill Bowman officiated. Delta Funeral Home having charge of arrangements. Mrs. Threet died Friday night in Lamar General Hospital, Paris, where she had been a patient five months. She was formerly Miss Birtie Prater, daughter of H. B. and Nancy Ellen (Brunson) Prater, and was born in Delta County, Octcber 14, 1910. Besides her husband and her father, these Children survive: Ray W. Threet, Cooper; Polly Threet, Race Track, and Helen Threet, Paris; two grandchildren and a brother, J. M. Prater, Race Track.”

THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, December 28, 1954, 8: “THREET SURVIVORS. Survivors of Mrs. J. M. Threet, 44, of Race Track community, Delta County, who died Friday and was buried Saturday, are: her father, H. B. Prator; her husband and these children: Roy W. Threet, Cooper; Billy P. Threet, Race Track, and Helen Threet, Paris; two grandchildren, and a brother, J. L. Prator, Paris. She was formerly Miss Birtie Prator, her mother being the former Miss Nancy Ellen Burrow, now deceased.”
