THE PARIS NEWS, Thursday, February 11, 1954, p. 7: “DAN BRACKETT. Paris News Service. HONEY GROVE — Funeral service for Dan Brackett, 88, of Rt. 1, Honey Grove, who died Wednesday, was set tentatively for Friday at 3 p.m. at Tuggle Springs, north of Clarksville. Robert West Funeral Home of Honey Grove has charge. Mr. Brackett’s death occurred about 5:30 p. m. at the Sanitarium of Paris, where he had been a patient since Feb. 5. He was the father of Mrs. Joe Swindle, Rt. 1, Honey Grove.”

THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, February 12, 1954, p. 5: “BRACKETT FUNERAL. Paris News Service. HONEY GROVE — The funeral of Dan S. Brackett, 87, who died Wednesday, was set for Friday at 3 p.m. at Tuggle Springs Cemetery, north of Clarksville. Robert West Funeral Home here had charge of arrangements. Mr. Brackett died at the Sanitarium of Paris where he had been a patient about a week. He was born Feb. 7, 1867 in Louisville, Ky. His wife, the former Miss Janie Butler, is dead, survivors being these children: Joe Clint Brackett, Mrs. Susie Lee Thompson, Mrs. Fannie Fisher and Mrs. Janie Swindell, all of Honey Grove; Mrs. Lillie Mac Stewart, Riverside, Calif., and Mrs. Grace Fisher. Cooper.”
