THE PARIS NEWS, Thursday, January 2, 1941, p. 8: “MRS. BETTIE USELTON - Death of Mrs. Bettie Morgan Uselton, 87, widow of Sam Uselton, occurred Thursday at 2:10 a, m. at the residence of Mrs. James W. McDaniel at Cavlness, where she made her home. Funeral service was set for 4 p. m. Thursday at the Baptist Church at Emberson, conducted by the Rev. J. H. Johnson of Forest Chapel, Methodist pastor, with burial at Prairie Ridge Cemetery by Brown-Roden Funeral home here. Mrs. Uselton was born in Mississippi in 1853. She has been ill only a short time and her condition became serious only Wednesday night. The only immediate survivor is a sister, Mrs, Nancy McElroy of Carnegie, Okla., besides several and nephews.”
