THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, May 16, 1961, p. 6: “WALKER B. BAXTER. Paris News Service. CLARKSVILLE — Walker B. Baxter, farmer of Clarksville, Rt. 3, died at the Sanitarium of Paris, Monday at 11:50 p.m. Jolley’s Funeral Home here has charge of burial arrangements. Mr. Baxter leaves his wife, Nora Alice; a son, Grady Baxter. Purcell, Okla., a stepson, Willie Douglas, Clarksville; a sister, Mrs. Mary Ward, McAlester, Okla., two brothers, John Baxter in California; and Oscar Baxter in Arizona and a half-brother, Jay Freeman of Duncan, Okla.”
