THE PARIS NEWS, June 7, 2019: “JoAnn Bridges, 88, of Greenville, passed away on June 6, 2019, at Briarcliff Health Center. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, June 10, 2019, at Evergreen Cemetery, in Paris, Texas, with the Rev. Brian Bosworth and the Rev. Deana Lowe officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2019, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Mrs. Bridges was born on Oct. 18, 1930, in Kerens, Texas, to Clifton Seale and Daffie Lee Holmes. She attended East Texas State Teachers College, now Texas A&M Commerce. She married Walter Selman ‘Sonn’ Bridges on Aug. 4, 1951. She worked for Shirey’s Manufacturing, was a homemaker, a member of Westview United Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution and The Pioneers Club. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Ronck and husband, David, of Dallas; grandchildren, Emily Ronck, of Dallas and Andrew Ronck, of New York; cousins, Ben Brister, of McKinney, Billy Watson, of Sachse; and nephew, Dr. Jack Bankhead, of Dallas. She is preceded in death by her husband and parents. Special thanks to Bennie Whytus, the staff of Dignity Hospice and the staff of Briarcliff Health Center.” Submitted by Viola Broyles.
