THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, January 9, 1961: “Rev. Otto Brooks. The Rev. Ott Reaves Brooks, Sr., 70, retired non-denominational preacher, died Sunday at 3:40 p. m. st Lamar Medical Center. He had been admitted from the nursing home at Deport where he and his wife were residents. Funeral services, Wednesday at 10 a. m. will be held here st Gene Roden & Sons chapel, and burial made in Jacobia Cemetery at Peniel near Greenville. Besides his wife, the former Miss Minnie Oliver, survivors Frank Brooks, and Ott Brooks, both of Seattle, Wash.; Reaves Brooks, Columbus, Ohio, and Mrs., Alberta Pattison, Redmond, Wash.; six other descendants; a brother, Richard Brooks, Terrell, and these sisters: Mrs. Ida M. Johnson, Arthur City; Mrs. Mozelle Roberts, Brecksville, Ohio, and Mrs. Aleene Stein, Cleveland, Ohio.”
