THE PARIS NEWS, April 6, 2019: “Billy Ray Taylor, 79, of Paris, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019, at his home while surrounded by his family. A memorial service, with military honors, has been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Chaplain Michael Stone officiating. Following the service the family will receive friends at the home of Bryan and Lisa Taylor. Mr. Taylor, the son of William Bryant Taylor and Virgie Janoe Taylor, was born Sept. 14, 1939, in Hugo, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army as a mechanic with two of those years being spent in Germany. Billy Ray worked as a lineman for Texas Electric, retiring after a career that spanned forty years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dean Taylor. Survivors include his wife, Geneva Brownfield Taylor, whom he married on June 27, 1965, building 53 years of family and memories; one son, Bryan Taylor and wife, Lisa, of Paris; a grandson, Jordan Taylor of Paris; one brother, Charles Taylor and wife, Mary Jo, of Rattan, Oklahoma; one sister, Linda Morse of Rattan, Oklahoma; two brothers-in-law, Floyd Brownfield and wife, Cleda, of Paris and Punchie Brownfield and wife, Debbie, of Sawyer, Oklahoma; three sisters-in-law, Linda Brownfield, Betty Lou Brownfield and Betty Francine Brownfield; along with several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
