From an unnamed newspaper, an obituary hand dated 1982, on file with the Lamar County Genealogical Society: "Mrs. Magnolia Thompson, 739-8th NE, died Saturday, Sept. 4, at her home. Services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 8, at 11 a.m. at the Maxey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. A. M. Seamon officiating. Burial will be in Fairland Cemetery by Maxey Funeral Home. Mrs. Thompson was born Sept. 25, 1893, in Red River County, a daughter of Henry and Lula Anderson King. She attended Red River County schools and was a member of the Truevine Christian Church. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Henderson of Paris and Mrs. Lula Mae Cunningham of Fort Worth, and Samuel King of San Diego, Calif.” Submitted by Carol Campbell.
