SANTA CRUZ SENTINEL, Wednesday, January 17, 2001, p. 6: “Maybell ‘Bobbie’ Bain. “No services are planned for Maybell ‘Bobbie’ Bain, who died Sunday in Santa Cruz after a long illness. She was 75. Mrs. Bain was born in Texas and sewed pillows, upholstery and other items. She was a past member of the women’s auxiliary for Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7263 and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her pets. She is survived by her husband, Andrew Bain of Santa Cruz; a daughter, Ouie Hoefer of Santa Cruz; sons Stephen Allen of Santa Cruz, Paul Allen of Tracy, and Jerry Allen of Kentucky; eleven siblings in California, Texas and Oklahoma; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Contributions are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association, P. 0. Box 2812, Santa Cruz, CA 95063. Arrangements are by Norman’s Family Chapel.”
Tombstone is inscribed, "Interned Aug. 1, 2002."
