AMARILLO GLOBE-NEWS (TX) - Thursday, August 23, 2007: “DUMAS - John P. Bailey, 59, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007. Memorial services will be at 2: p.m. Friday in Morrison Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bob Ulrey, pastor of First Baptist Church in Cactus, officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Highland Cemetery in Deport by Morrison Funeral Directors. John was born May 20, 1948, in Cunningham to Chester E. and Ella L. Bailey. He had been a resident of Dumas since 1960 and graduated from Dumas High School. He had been employed by Bailey Furniture. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, David Bailey. Survivors include a brother, Travis Bailey of Cartwright, Okla.; three nieces, Jeannie Bailey Olguin, Cheryl Bailey Burch and Cindy Bailey Engel; and three nephews, James Bailey, David Bailey and Ronnie Bailey. The family suggests memorials be to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 15186, Austin, TX 78761.”
