| Notes THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, 21 Nov 1960: “W. T. (Bud) Tarter. Willie Thurman (Bud) Tarter, 51, a longtime Walker Oil Company employee, who lived at 2350 Bonham St., died Sunday at 3:20 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Hospital here after illness. Funeral services were set for 2 p.m. Monday at Fry & Gibbs Chapel here, conducted by the Rev. Gene Burgess of Immanuel Baptist Church, where Mr. Tarter was a member. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery at Honey Grove was arranged by Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home here. Born in Fannin County, January 8, 1909, Mr. Tarter was a son of J. W. and Lula Belle (Alexander) Tarter. He had lived at Honey Grove and Windom before 1947, when he came to Paris, and had been a member of the IOOF Lodge in Honey Grove. He married Miss Mildred Elizabeth Melton in 1934, her death occurring in 1944. On April 23 this year, he married Mrs. Dora Walker, who survives, besides two children, Mrs. J. D. Sibley, Honey Grove; and Larry Don Tarter, USAFB, Wichita Falls; two grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Charles Fields, Dallas, and a brother, O. D.
