THE PARIS NEWS, Oct 23, 2017: “Emily Ann Townsend 78, of Dallas, died at 9:50 PM, Saturday, October 21, 2017 at her home. A graveside service is set for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Knights of Honor Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until 1:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements. Emily was born March 17, 1939 in Blossom, Texas to Williams Travis and Dorthy Cole Wilson. She graduated from Blossom High School and married Robert Lee Townsend on November 23, 1957 in Hugo, Oklahoma. Mrs. Townsend retired from Safeway and continued working for Ross Stores. Emily enjoyed spending time with family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved camping and fishing with family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Robert Townsend of Dallas; three children, Sherry Denise Vitro of Dallas, Kimberly Ann Privitt and husband, Roger of Plano, and Bradley Wayne Townsend and wife, Joyce of Wylie; six grandchildren, Nicole Miller of Dittweiler, Germany, Ashlee Ybarra of Dallas, Austin Townsend of Sunnyvale, Darby Vitro of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Marci Clanton of Plano, and Dru Vitro of Hot Springs; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Patsy Haley; and one brother, Travis ‘Bubba’ Wilson. She was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Sue Bradford.”
