THE PARIS NEWS, Wed., July 4, 2018, page 3: “Bettie Bridgers, 69 of Paris, died at 7:12 a.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018, at Medical City of Dallas. A graveside service is set for 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Little Vine Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Myre officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements. Bettie was born on Oct. 28, 1948, in Honey Grove, to Herbert Joseph and Lillie Lorine Walls Haslip. She married Johnny Ray Bridgers, and together they have shared the past 47 years. Mrs. Bridgers was a cook and managed several restaurants and concession establishments in the Paris area. She is survived by her husband, Johnny Bridgers, of Paris; five children, David Potter, Margie Rios, Jerry Potter, Gary Dale Potter and Belicia Rios, all of Paris; four grandchildren, Augustina, Dale, Lillie and Shawn; and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James Darrell Potter; her parents; mother-in-law, Catherine Bridgers; three brothers and five sisters; and a daughter-in-law, Oneida Potter. She loved her kids and grandchildren dearly. Her whole world was her loving husband Johnny. She loved cooking and spending time with her family.
