THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, Mar. 2, 2018, page A3: “Donald Ray Burton, 86, of Paris, died at 2:56 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Heritage House of Paris. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018, under the pavilion at Forest Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Dickey officiating. The family will be at Chicota Community Center from 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. on Saturday. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements. Donald was born March 5, 1931, in Lamar County to Claud and Vida Henley Burton. He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Burton married Doris V. Slagle on Sept. 11, 1959. She died Feb. 10, 2018. He worked for City Steam Laundry in Paris, which began his life-long career in the uniform rental business. He worked for Olympia Linen Supply and URS Uniform Rental Supply in Dallas eventually owning and operating the Action Uniform Rental Supply in Dallas. Survivors include three children, Larry Anderson, Jim Arnold and Ginger Sherwood; his brother, Charles Burton and wife, Nancy; four grandchildren, Bryan Aldridge, Jason Sherwood, Christi Fisher and Jimmy W. Arnold Jr.; eight great-grandchildren, Autumn Fisher, Caleb Fisher, Gabriela Aldridge, Jessica Aldridge, Ashley Taylor, Heather Hood, Kimberly Sherwood and David Smith; three brothers-in-law, Jody, Buck and Ray Slagle; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his two sisters, Doris Satcher and Helen Dove. Online condolences may be made to the Burton family by visiting fry-gibbs.com.” Submitted by Mary J.
