THE PARIS NEWS, Feb. 03, 2011: “A. C. Barnett, 79, of Paris, passed from this life Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at Paris Healthcare Center. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Feb 4, in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Cannon officiating. Private interment is to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family is to receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. He was born July 15, 1931, in Paris, a son of Almon C. and Dorothy Darrell Wheeler Barnett. He attended Paris schools, then worked for the Gulf Printing Company in Houston, from whence he retired. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by one sister, Patsy Ruth Gossett, in 1996. He is survived by a brother, James K. Barnett, of Paris; and a sister, Betty Gibbens, of Powderly. THE PARIS NEWS, Feb. 04, 2011: “Due to extreme weather conditions, funeral services for A. C. Barnett, originally scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, have been rescheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home.”
