THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, July 25, 1944, p. 1: CORDIE W. INGRAM OF ROXTON DIES. Funeral Services For Writer and Club Woman Set. [Picture Cordie Webb Ingram] Death of Mrs. B. M. Ingram of Roxton, widely known by her pen name, Cordie Webb Ingram, occurred at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday, at the Sanitarium of Paris. She had been in failing health some time. Funeral services were arranged for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Manton-Fry Funeral Home here, conducted by the Rev. W. A. Kelly, Baptist pastor, and the Rev. Warren T. Whiteside, Methodist pastor, both of Roxton, and the body will be taken to Hillcrest Mausoleum, Dallas, for interment. Long active as a member of the Baptist Church, Mrs. Ingram made this interest closely associated with her literary endeavors. She was the author of two published books, ‘Southern Symphonies,’ a collection of verse, and ‘Child of the Sun,’ a novel, and in addition, she had written numerous articles and short stories, chiefly for religious publications. Born Feb. 3, 1880, in Noble community near Roxton, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Webb, he had lived all her life in Lamar County. As a young woman, she had taught school in the county 15 years. Besides membership in the Baptist Church and its various literary groups. She formerly was Roxton correspondent for the Paris News a number of years. The only immediate survivors are her husband and several nieces and nephews.”
