THE PARIS NEWS, Thursday, September 23, 1937, p. 10: “MRS. G. C. BAUGHN IS BURIED AT DETROIT. LINDEN. (Special). -- Funeral services were conducted here on Tuesday for Mrs. Bettie Whitney Baugh, who died here Monday at her home here. She was born October 2, 1866 and was married to G. C. Baughn in 1894, and had lived here ever since. Surviving besides her husband are a son, Raymond Baughn here, two sisters, Mrs. Annie Rucker and Mrs. Sterling Wright of Floydada and a brother, Needham Whitney of Blossom. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. R. E. Parker of Blossom, Methodist pastor, with Carl Griffin, Blossom funeral director in charge, and pallbearers were Virgil Tolbert, Walter Baxley, Riley Herron, Ralph Ham, Leonard Johnson and Bill Baxter. Burial was made at Detroit cemetery.”
