THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, August 10, 1920, p. 7: “DIED AT DAUGHTER’S HOME IN WEST PARIS. Mrs. Mary E. Brooks, the mother of Mrs. Dora Hopper, died at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter on West Houston street. She had been making her home with her children, and had just returned from spending some time with a daughter in Indiana when she was taken sick. The funeral was held at the home of Mrs. Hopper at 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. E. S. Hutcherson. Burial was at Evergreen cemetery.”
