| Notes THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, October 11, 2016, page 3: “Charlie Kent Barnett, 68 of Maxey, passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2016, surrounded by his family. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at Georgia Cemetery with the Rev. David Farmer officiating. No formal visitation has been set. Arrangements under the direction of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home. Charlie was born in Havana, Arkansas to Charlie and Ethel Barnett on Jan.29, 1948. He married Gearldine Davis on Sept. 12, 1966, in Paris. He retired from Lamar County Precinct 3 after working there for 20 years. Charlie is survived in death by his wife of 50 years, Gearldine Barnett; his daughters, Ethel and husband, Chad Coursey, Lee Ann and husband, Michael Blair, Linda and husband, Joey Hamm, Julie Clarkson, Melissa and husband, Kevin Verner; grandchildren, Cody Vick and wife, Katelyn, Heather Hicks and husband, Eric, Travis Vick, Crissy Templeton and husband, Hunter, Shelby Mallicote and husband, Jordan, Makayla Hamm, Makenzie Hamm, Chesney May, Ty Clarkson, Mayson Woodard, Caycee Woodard, Emmy Hamm and Nick Hamm; great-grandchildren, Grady, Rayner, Gentry, Hayslee, Isley, and Haven. He will be greatly missed. Pallbearers are Michael Blair, Joey Hamm, Kevin Verner, Chad Coursey, Cody Vick, Travis Vick, Ty Clarkson, Mayson Woodard, Nick Hamm and Kevin Clarkson.
