THE PARIS NEWS, Feb. 19, 2010: “Police: Unidentified body found in car. Paris Police discovered an unidentified dead person early today in the 10 block of West Santa Fe, possibly the result of a one car accident, according to Matt Birch, public information officer for the police department. Police were dispatched shortly before 7 a.m. to a vehicle in a ditch, where a Caucasian male was found dead. The cause of the accident and the driver’s death are unknown, Birch said. ‘Investigators are also working to positively identify the body,’ Birch said. ‘That information will be passed on once a proper ID is made and next of kin is notified.’”
THE PARIS NEWS, Feb. 21, 2010: “Kyle Upchurch, 18, of Paris died Friday, Feb. 19, 2010. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Knights of Honor Cemetery with Rev. Tiny Freelen officiating. The family receives friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home. He was the son of Chris Eugene Upchurch and Kathy Jean Henry Upchurch, born Nov. 27, 1991, in Sulphur Springs. He enjoyed fishing, baseball and football. He was preceded in death by a cousin, Sammy Cullum; two uncles, Danny Hoffman and Tim Henry; and a grandfather, Freeman Upchurch. Survivors include his mother, Kathy of Blossom; his father, Chris of Arlington; sister, Courtney Upchurch of Paris; grandparents, Ray and Patsy Hoffman of Blossom; Jim and Sandra Warren of Mansfield; aunts, Melissa Allen and husband, Barry, of Blossom, Tammy Cullum and husband, Sam, of Blossom, Tena Gee and husband, Randy, of Colorado City, Texas, and Allison Martin and husband, Chris, of Mansfield; uncles, Dusty Hoffman of Blossom, Bryan Upchurch of Colorado City, Colo., Jason Upchurch and wife; two nephews, Braydon and Brenton Upchurch; along with numerous cousins. THE PARIS NEWS, Feb. 22, 2010 By Krista Goerte: “Police ID body from one-car accident - Paris police have identified the body of a Caucasian male found dead in a vehicle early Friday morning on West Santa Fe Street. Christopher Kyle Upchurch, 18, of Paris was found in the 10 block of West Santa Fe Street shortly before 7 a.m. Friday, according to Matt Birch, public information officer for the Paris Police Department. The death, possibly the result of a one-car accident, is still under investigation. ‘We are waiting on testing to be done and will continue the investigation,’ Birch said. Funeral services for Upchurch have been scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Knights of Honor Cemetery with Rev. Tiny Freelen officiating. The family is to receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Bright-Holland Funeral Home.”
