THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, August 7, 1935, p. 3: “DICK TOMLINSON OF DETROIT DIES. Funeral Service Set For Wednesday Afternoon at 3:30 o’Clock. Dick Moody Tomlinson of Detroit, Texas, 33 years old, died after three weeks illness at St. Joseph’s hospital just before noon Tuesday. The funeral service was arranged for 3:30 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the Baptist church at Detroit, conducted by the Rev. W. M. Wright of First Baptist church here, assisted by the Rev. L. E. Shackelford, Detroit Methodist minister. John Allen, S. McCowan, Arthur Bevins, Fate Lawson, Frank Ketcham and Flem Gibson were named pallbearers. Mr. Tomlinson is survived by his mother, Mrs. H. L. Phillips, one sister and three brothers, Miss Veleta Tomlinson, Paris; Madison Tomlinson, Grant, Okla.; Wyatt, of Portales, N. M. and Rufus Tomlinson of Detroit, besides these half-brothers and sisters, Seburn and Teron Phillips, Mrs. Eugene Bailey and Mrs. Euniice Morris of Detroit, and Maurice Phillips of Paris.”
