THE PARIS NEWS, March 4, 2013: "Billy H. 'Bill' Ballard, 79, of Paris, was lifted safely into the arms of the Lord on the morning of Sunday March 3, 2013. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday March 6, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with burial following in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Ballard, the son of Alva & Gladys (Holbrook) Ballard, was born Aug. 11,1933, in Madill, Okla. He served in the National Guard at the age of 17. He was a graduate of the American Institute of Baking. His career with Rainbo Bread Companies spanned 42 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Lazy8's V-8 Club. He loved the outdoors and old cars. He was proceeded in death by his parents; a grandson, Dylan Ballard; a son-in-law, Larry Wilson; and his sister, Sarah Grady. Survivors his wife, Mary Etta Spoon Ballard, whom he married on July 10, 1951, building 61 years of memories; a son Ronnie Ballard and wife Vicki, of Paris; a daughter, Patti Wilson, of Blossom; three grandsons, Steven Wilson, of Paris, Jeremy Wilson, of Blossom, and Matthew Allen, of Paris; two brothers, Alva Ballard and wife , Vi, of West Chicago, Ill, and John Ballard and wife, Carole, of New Lenox, Ill.; along with several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Casket bearers will be Jeremy Wilsom, Steven Wilson, Matthew Allen, Henry Spoon, Bill Spoon and Doug Cato. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Dylan's Drivers, 1455 20th NE ST. Paris, TX 75460.” Submitted by Linda Broyles.
