THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, November 6, 1935, p. 2: "W. T. BECKETT DIES AT HOSPITAL HERE. W. T. Beckett, 67 years old, died at 8:30 o'clock Tuesday night at Lamar hospital where he was a patient. Services had not been completed Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Beckett, who lived on West Shiloh street was employed at a sawmill on North Eighteenth street. Surviving him are a daughter and two sons, Mrs. Mary Sue Eckels of Paris and Willie and Vernon Beckett of Broken Bow, Okla."
THE PARIS NEWS, Thursday, November 7, 1935, p. 9: "Beckett Funeral Held On Thursday Morning. Funeral services for W. T. Beckett, 67, of West Shiloh street, who died at Lamar hospital Tuesday night, was held Thursday morning at Emberson-Brown-Roden funeral chapel here, Max Barton officiating, and internment was made in the Odd Fellows cemetery. Pallbearers were J. C. Wyrick, O. E. Bunch, Oscar Dempsey, W. H. Allen, W. Bray and A. S. Guthrie. Survivors are a daughter and two sons, Mrs. Mary Sue Eckles of Paris and Willie and Vernon Beckett of Broken Bow, Okla."
