THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, March 10, 1935, p. 10: "FUNERAL OF R. E. TAYLOR IS HELD. Robert Emmitt Taylor who died Friday at his home about nine miles northwest of Paris, was buried Saturday afternoon at Prairie Ridge cemetery, after services conducted at his home by R. E. Hazelton. Six grandsons, Lawrence, Ray, Albert Lee, Marion M., Goldman and Samuel Taylor were pallbearers. Mr. Taylor, born September 12, 1854, moved from Illinois to Texas 51 years ago, and had lived in Lamar county 48 years. He had been a member of the Church of Christ since young manhood. His widow, Mrs. Mattie Taylor, two sons Lee and R. E. Taylor, Jr., survive, besides 26 grandchildren and several great grandchildren."
