THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, August 11, 1935, p. 3: "W. H. Thompson Is Buried At Petty. PETTY. -- William A. Thompson, aged 49, died at his home here Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mr. Thompson was born and lived in Petty all of his life. He married Miss Flora Bannister. An invalid, he had been confined to his wheel chair the past 15 years, but had been ill only about three weeks. Funeral services were held at the Thompson home Saturday afternoon at 5 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. J. L. Harris, Duncanvile, with prayer by the Rev. E. H. Coston. Burial was at the Honey Grove cemetery. Pallbearers were John McBee, T. C. Manuel, E. H. Coston, L. C. Dowlen, Jach Hobbs and D. C. Spears. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. William Thomposn, one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Baker of Amarillo, and two brothers Benton Thompson, of Petty, and Ira Thompson of Honey Grove."
