THE PARIS MORNING NEWS, Wednesday, April 30, 1919, p. 2: "R. I. Barnett a young man twenty-three years old, who lived with his mother near Givens, died at 2 o'clock yesterday morning of pneumonia after an illness of nine days. He returned from the army last February, having received his discharge at Camp Travis. He leaves a brother and three sisters. The funeral was held yesterday evening at Providence cemetery conducted by Rev. J. O. Sisson."
