THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, March, 19, 1945, p. 4: "Death of Mrs. D. L. Travis occurred Saturday night at 9 o'clock at the home of her daughter Mrs. W. B. Gervers, 303-6th SE, where she had spent most of the last three years. She formerly resided at Cooper. Funeral service was set for 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at Manton-Fry Funeral Home here, conducted by the Rev. Lawrence Malloy of First Presbyterian Church, with burial at Cooper. Friends there were designated pallbearers. Mrs. Travis leaves four children, Joe C. Travis and Mrs. Gervers here; Miss Kate Travis, Cooper, and Miss Sue Travis, San Antonio, besides one sister Mrs. W. G. Kirby of Ben Franklin. She was formerly Miss Laura Waller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Joe Waller born October 18, 1862, in Tennessee. She came to Texas when nine years old, and had lived in Delta County ever since. Mr. Travis died at Cooper, March 4, 1924. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church."
